Four Suspects Arrested In Ukunda Over Murder Of British National Campbelle Scott

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have arrested four suspects in Ukunda Kwale County in connection with the murder of British national Campbelle Scott and a series of violent robberies. The suspects Bernard Mbusu Isaac Kinoti Kobia Evans Muthengi Mutaki and Kelvin Mwangi Njoroge were apprehended at Ideal Apartments during a joint operation by the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau working with officers from SCCIO Nyali and SCCIO Msambweni Ukunda.

A search of the residence recovered an HP laptop mobile phones various foreign currencies several credit cards cheque books from different banks and PDQ machines. The scene was processed by crime scene investigation personnel and the suspects together with the exhibits are held at Nyali Police Station pending further investigations and arraignment.

The arrests stem from investigations into the February 2025 abduction and murder of Campbelle Scott. The victim was reported missing on 17 February 2025 after failing to attend a scheduled presentation at the JW Marriott Hotel in Nairobi Westlands. His body was later found in a sack in Makongo Forest Makueni County along the Machakos Wote road. Two other suspects were previously arrested and arraigned in that case.

Forensic evidence has also linked the four suspects to a separate robbery with violence in Nyali involving another British national and to another violent robbery in Watamu Malindi Sub County. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations confirmed the suspects are forensically connected to both incidents.
