Refugee Consortium of Kenya (RCK)

The Refugee Consortium of Kenya (RCK) is a non-governmental organization established in 2000 to address the increasingly complex refugee situation in Kenya, the Great Lakes, and the Horn of Africa region.

RCK's mission is to protect and promote the well-being, voice, and dignity of displaced and host populations, envisioning a just and inclusive society for all. It operates under five strategic pillars:

a. Legal Aid and Governance: Providing legal representation and governance support to displaced and host communities.

b. Women and Girls' Empowerment: Addressing gender-specific challenges and promoting the rights of women and girls.

c. Peace and Social Justice: Promoting peace and social justice through collaborative partnerships and conflict resolution.

d. Mental Health and Psychosocial Support: Offering mental health services and psychosocial support to enhance the well-being of affected populations.

e. Organizational Development: Strengthening institutional capacity for effective service delivery and sustainable growth.

Over the years, RCK has influenced government policies, partners, and donors to invest in changing social attitudes, norms, and laws to protect and promote the well-being of displaced individuals. The organization has built strong partnerships with the Government of Kenya at all levels, established robust systems, and earned the trust of the communities it serves.

RCK is committed to equal opportunities and values diversity in its workforce, hiring based on attitude, aptitude, and ability. The organization respects and values diversity in age, gender, disability, marital status, religion, belief, and tribe, ensuring all employees are treated fairly and with respect.

Through its integrated approach to advocacy, legal aid, and community empowerment, RCK continues to protect displaced populations' well-being, voice, and dignity, striving towards a just and inclusive society.
